No one in Coutances blinks when I pop into LeClerc wearing big boots, hot-pink tights and a little black dress. The cashier simply asks if I want a bag for the Camembert.

The garden in front of the gîte is fully enclosed — perfect for outdoor meals, morning coffee or decompressing after a long day. It sits beside a quiet rural lane with occasional traffic, and the high fencing provides a cosy, private feel.

The private field next to the gîte has its own entrance away from the main property, giving guests a secluded outdoor space that’s accessed directly next door to the gîte. It’s fully enclosed, with high hedging along the quiet farm track on one side, while the rest opens out to rolling farmland and big skies. Your only onlookers will be the occasional llama, horse or curious cow — and they’re far more interested in grass than in you.
The field includes picnic tables and loungers beside the splash pool, ideal for sunbathing, journalling or simply enjoying the peace. As our business grows, we’ll be adding even more outdoor comforts to make this space an even better private retreat.
